CHARACTERISTICS
Marmo Floor is a special spatolato finish used to realize monolithic flat decorative surfaces when a particular result is desired.
Two-component, ready-mixed, based on high-resistance hydraulic binders, with selected and sieved aggregates, particular polymers and special additives, it DOES NOT CONTAIN CEMENT.
Easy to prepare and to use, it has an excellent filling capacity and is extremely versatile, presenting an elegant aspect, both pleasing and functional, and is highly resistant to wear.
Marmo Floor is suitable for a spatolato, low thickness (2 mm) decorative coating for floors and walls, ideal for shops, offices, show areas, houses, bathrooms, staircases, terraces, hotels and restaurants for all interior and exterior surfaces where a particularly sought-after finish is required.
COLOUR RANGE
Marmo Floor is in WHITE colour base.
It can be coloured with the most common pigments both in powder and in paste.
PREPARATION OF THE PRODUCT
Marmo Floor is furnished in two parts: BASE A powder, to mix with BASE B liquid to the ratio of 100 parts of “A” to 45 parts of “B”, corresponding to 45% of B in weight.
Take the bag of Base A out of the tub, pour base B into the bucket, add the colour desired, disperse with care, add base A and mix carefully for about 3-5 minutes until you get a completely homogeneous mixture. For the colouring, considering this is an alkaline product, it is advisable to use INORGANIC colourants, both in powder and paste form.
APPLICATION CYCLE
- FIRST COAT
PRODUCT: MARMO FLOOR WHITE or COLOURED
CONSUMPTION: about 800 ÷ 900 g/m
It should be applied with a steel spatula, and spread uniformly to obtain a homogeneous result.
- SECOND COAT
PRODUCT: MARMO FLOOR WHITE or COLOURED
CONSUMPTION: about 750 ÷ 800 g/m
It should be applied with a steel spatula, spread uniformly to obtain a homogeneous result.
Proceed when the first coat is completely dry (after a minimum of 6/8 hours at 20°C), pressing and smoothing down well to realize a flat surface without any irregularities
- THIRD COAT
PRODUCT: MARMO FLOOR WHITE or COLOURED
CONSUMPTION: about 200 ÷ 300 g/m
Apply with stainless steel spatula.
For this phase of smoothing, you can proceed in two ways:
A) Wet on wet, finish when the second coat is not yet perfectly dry but sufficiently hardened (about 2/3 hours at 20°C) so that the pressure applied by the spatula makes the aggregates penetrate into the first coat.
B) Dry surface, proceed when the second coat is completely dry (after minimum of 6/8 hours at 20°C), applying a thin layer of product with a spatula, and passing over the surface again and again smoothing it down.
SURFACE FINISHING
Marmo Floor, precisely for its versatile characteristics and easy use, is ideal for several types of finishing, providing even an exclusive touch, with the skill and fantasy of the person using it.
A) Contrast: for this type of finish, use a stainless steel spatula, passing over the surface again in the drying phase of the third coat, applying a decisive pressure until a glossy effect is obtained. The end result should be a shiny and glossy look with clear marks of a ‘contrasting’ pattern showing.
B) Velvet look: for this finish use a rigid plastic spatula, passing over the surface in the drying phase (exclusively as indicated in the wet-on-wet method), applying the right amount of pressure to smooth it.
C) Rustic look: this effect can be obtained by sandpapering the surface with abrasive 120/150 grain paper, highlighting the pattern made by the spreading and thus obtaining a “rustic” opaque surface.
PROTECTIVE FINISHING
Marmo Floor, in view of its mineral content, is a porous and permeable material that requires suitable surface protection in order to preserve its aesthetic qualities over time as well as maintaining the surface clean. Depending on the use to which it is destined and on the final effect desired, various types of protection can be used:
- WAXING, glossy or opaque, which protects the finish while keeping the aspect almost unaltered.
- FILM-FORMING, with one or two-component, polyurethane glossy or opaque transparent varnish, water or solvent, depending on the use and level of resistance required.
