CHARACTERISTICS
INTONACO A CALCE 0.7 - 1 mm is a fine traditional finish layer of slaked lime and selected marble sand.
It is used to obtain trowel type finishes with pleasant and characteristic colour nuances.
A special characteristic of the product is its essentially mineral composition, based on traditional preparation methods adopted in the past by master artisans, with the unquestionable advantage of allowing surfaces to breathe.

The careful selection of vegetable and mineral additives, combined with new production technologies, give the product excellent workability, resistance and duration characteristics.

COMPOSITION
Slaked and fat lime, selected marble sand, iron oxide and colouring earths such as pigments and special vegetable and mineral additives.

USE
To obtain elegant finishes on the outside and inside, particularly on the facades of buildings of a historic-artistic interest and for traditional decorative finishing on new buildings.

PREPARATION OF THE BASE
Seasoned and very absorbent plasters in good conditions must be uniformly wet ahead of time with clean water.
If the surface is powdery or not uniform first apply a coat of PRIMER MINERAL s. 103 diluted 1 to 1 in water.
Walls with clear traces of humidity and efflorescence need to be treated with our siloxane primer SILCOTEX "S. 40".

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
With a stainless steel trowel, always in thin layers and in two successive layers.
The last layer is finished with a sponge float kept constantly wet, just like a normal civil plaster.

TECHNICAL DATA
Yield: Variable based on the base and number of layers applied, as a guideline:
For 0.7 mm plaster: 1 - 1.5 kg. / sq. m per layer.
For 1 mm plaster: 1.5 - 2 Kg. / sq. m per layer.

TINS
5 Kg. and 25 Kg.
Store in a dry place at temperatures above + 5°C.

WARNING
All lime based products are very sensitive to different and non-uniform drying conditions due to different absorptions of the base.
To avoid spots, differences in uniformity and intensity of colour, particularly in the event of replastering or residual old paint, it is indispensable to evaluate the characteristics of the base and suitably pretreat it. The product must be applied on seasoned plaster (min. 28 days) and its consistency checked..

The surface must be free from material which can affect product adherence (grease, paints, old synthetic paint, solvents).
For civil plaster applications using fine lime mortar with little or no cement and on premixed plasters with a high degree of porosity and very high absorption, it is always necessary to correctly evaluate the base before starting to apply the finish.
The following always needs to be taken into account:

a plaster which is too absorbent causes the finish to dry too quickly resulting in poorer adherence;
a plaster with micro hair cracks will probably fall off of the base and the hair cracks will become more evident in the mineral base finish over time.
plaster which crumbles easily when wet cannot support application of a highly adherent finish;
a fine mortar of only lime which is not very uniform will not support the energetic crushing action of the trowel during polishing of the mineral finish and may fall off of the underlying plaster, particularly if premixed.
In light of the above, a decision needs to be made whether the plaster is suitable for certain types of finish.
On these bases, it is advisable to test them by hammering to check the anchorage of the layers, and if necessary to effect a test application of the finish, after having treated the surface with one or more evenly spread coats of PRIMER MINERALE s. 103 or RASANTE IMB30, to reinforce the normal absorption of the base as much as possible.

Do not mix the products excessively before use with mechanical mixers to avoid decreasing the typical viscosity of the slaked lime, if the product is going to be coloured wait 24 hours before applying it if possible.
Do not apply with temperatures below + 5° C. taking into account the time required to take hold and dry (4-6 hours on average).
Do not apply in the presence of wind and low atmospheric humidity, nor on bases which have been heated too much by the sun. In the presence of low atmospheric humidity the product remains sensitive to rain for more than 48 hours, thus adequately protect the job to prevent washing out and spots.

To obtain the best application results it is indispensable that the layers are uniform both in terms of applied thicknesses and application and polishing methods.
The final layer must be applied within 12 hours of the previous layers.
To increase the resistance of the product applied outdoors, without decreasing its ability to breathe, IDROTOP water repellent in water emulsion or SILATOP COAT, a siloxane water repellent for lime products, can be applied on perfectly dry surfaces in one or more coats by brush.
The correspondence of the chart colours to the production of the sample colours are affected by the particular characteristics of the lime, which may cause even significant differences compared to the reference colour, based on the pigments used, product seasoning, base absorption and application conditions.
